Around the world, intelligence and ability are evenly distributed, but opportunity is not. This unequal distribution of opportunity – including access to investment capital, tools, markets, jobs, and education – leads to significant economic disparities, both within and among countries, and prevents underserved populations from realizing their potential. By increasing access to these resources, we aim to give individuals the opportunity to work their way out of poverty and uplift their communities.
This is the reason why Common Wealth International came up with the Gift Programme where organisations are given tools and equipments such as tractors, computers, scholastic materials, office equipment, hospital tools and other tools in order to create an equal opportunity among communities.
In Africa, where much of the population is reliant on agriculture to sustain their livelihoods and support their families, most smallholder farmers have the drive but lack the resources needed to maximize their harvests and profits. In Latin America and Asia, the lack of opportunities for education and employment often prevent the poor from working their way out of poverty. In Haiti, many artisans, entrepreneurs, and small business owners have the desire to succeed but lack the resources and connections to grow and sustain operations. CWI Provides all these communities with the necessary tools to foster development.
